Yard of the Month for December

Hello everyone! Hope you and yours had a relaxing Christmas & New Year holidays.

During the month of December MCHOA has a difficult endeavor of picking two residents for Yard of the Month of which involves holiday decorating. Again this year was no different. There were many who deserved to be rewarded, but having only two gift cards. Well, you do the math.

As we were driving the neighborhood, we came across a winter wonderland located on Halkirk. It involved many lights and an assortment of presentations. The issue was to pick one of the two residents that helped make this possible. So, we decided to pick both. So, our winners for the Yard of the Month for December are:

Be sure to congratulate your neighbors on their beautiful yards!  Now is a great time to get yours in ship shape. With the cooler weather raking and cleaning up your deflated annuals will be a breeze.  Add some crysanthemums for a pop of fall color.

Additionally, Fall is the best time to plant many kinds of vegetables in Texas. Think cabbage, onions, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips and many more.  

Now is also a great time to plant shrubs and trees so that they save their growing energy for beautiful spring growth.  The good news is that many shrubs and trees are actually on sale at garden centers now!
