Memorial Chase Senior's Book Sale

On Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Memorial Chase Senior's Group will have a huge roomful of books for sale. The event will be held in the clubhouse to make shopping comfortable and relaxing. Books will be sorted by category and placed on tables for easy browsing. There are even some sofas and chairs for those who can't wait to curl up. Prices are cheap and the selection is enormous, including a large section of cookbooks, some antique. Most paperbacks will be $.50 and most hardbacks, $1. Some special finds will be priced a little higher. Shoppers can Fill-A-Bag at a bargain price, and while supplies last, a free cookbook will be given for each purchase $10 or over. There will be free refreshments as well as delicious baked goods for sale.

The sale will be at the Memorial Chase Clubhouse, 9411 Landry Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77379. The subdivision is located on Spring-Cypress Road a couple of miles east of its intersection with SH 249 (Tomball Pky.) When you come to the railroad tracks, you're almost there. Follow the bright yellow signs!

Board Of Directors Meeting 2/14/2012;

A payment plan was accepted and approved per one resident’s request – 6 monthly payments at $33 per payment.
The BOD agreed to waive the $25 late payment fee and the $1 interest for a resident with a good payment history but requires the $25 certified letter fee to be paid. The resident’s original payment was apparently lost in the mail.
A $350 estimate for sprinkler repair on the esplanade at Baronshire Round was not acted upon by the BOD. Instead, the water will be capped and “hardscape” will be looked at for this location since there is currently only one tree, one bush and four tree stumps.

Dear Homeowners:

The Board of Directors of the Memorial Chase Homeowners Association, Inc. will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., at the clubhouse located at 9411 Landry Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77379.

The subjects to be discussed at this meeting are general business of the Association, including committee reports, approval of meeting minutes, financial reports, the collection report, the budget, new business and unfinished business.

The executive session will start at 7:00 p.m. and the “public” open session will start at 8:30 p.m.

MCHOA January Board Meeting Review

The MCHOA Board executive meeting was held on Tuesday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m. Attending were Directors Scott Cearley, Steve Hlawek, Rudy Laney, Caroline Spampinato, Betsy Vogel, Craig Young, and the office manager.

Meeting Minutes: Meeting minutes for December were presented and approved.

The Board reviewed last month's accounts receivables report and the check register. The transaction list by vendor and the expense by vendor summary were also reviewed.

Other discussions were:

Approving a bid from International Tree Service to take down 8 dead trees within the subdivision for $2500,
Renewal of the Mosquito control contract with Cypress Creek for $70 per treatment,
Approval of 2012 proxy and purchase of stamps for proxy mailing,
Review of the Deed Restriction guidelines for 2012, as required by the 2012 Legislative changes,
Nuisance abatement meeting review,
$20000 CD renewal for another 6 months when it expires on 2/17/12

Dear Homeowners:

The Board of Directors of the Memorial Chase Homeowners Association, Inc. will hold the annual meeting on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., at the clubhouse located at 9411 Landry Boulevard, Spring, Texas 77379.

The subjects to be discussed at this annual meeting are the election of directors, to review the accomplishments of 2011, and to review our goals for 2012, with a general open session to conclude the meeting.

The annual meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. and we expect to conclude the meeting by 8:30 p.m.

New Legislation Regarding Your HOA

Dear Memorial Chase Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Owners:

Recently the State of Texas passed new policies amending Chapter 209 of the Texas Property Code effective January 1, 2012, which requires the Memorial Chase Homeowners’ Association, Inc. to adopt, and record policies and regulations. This article is to notify and inform you of the new policies regarding Board Meetings.

Associations are now required to provide more information to Owners about Board Meetings, including providing owners with meeting information. To comply with the new laws, effective January 1, 2012, the Board of Directors chose to provide notice of Memorial Chase Homeowners Association, Inc. formal meetings by posting the notices outside the on-site office, by posting the notices on the Memorial Chase Homeowners Association, Inc. website (www.memorialchasehoa.com) and by emailing a meeting notice to Owners who have registered their email address.

PLEASE NOTE, the new legislation, Sec. 209.0051, Subsection (e) (2) (B) of the Texas Residential Property Owners Protection Act, allows “sending notice by email to each owner who has registered an email address with the association.” Per Sec. 209.0051 Subsection (f), “it is an owner’s duty to keep an updated email registered with the property owners’ association.”
